Northland Utilities and the Government of the Northwest Territories Unveil Yellowknife's First Level 3 Electric Vehicle Fast Charger
Northland Utilities and the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) are pleased to announce the availability of the city’s first Level 3 Electric Vehicle (EV) Fast Charger. The 100kW Level 3 EV Fast Charger is installed as part of the Government’s 2030 Energy Strategy and associated 2022-2025 Energy Action Plan. It represents a significant milestone in reducing emissions from transportation and brings us a step closer to realizing a zero-emission vehicle corridor in the NWT.

As the first of its kind in Yellowknife, this Level 3 EV Fast Charger sets the stage for EVs in the territory, and a second 100kW Fast Charger for the city is expected to become available in the near future. This marks a strategic step toward making EV charging more accessible, convenient, and efficient for residents and visitors alike.
