Our Indigenous Education Awards Program supports students from First Nation, Métis and Inuit communities who demonstrate a balanced lifestyle and commitment in their quest for education. The Merit, Bridging and Scholarship Awards are available to select Canadian Indigenous students who demonstrate leadership capabilities and strive to be role models in their community and school.
New this year is the Scholarship award which includes the previous Bursary award. Eligible students in trades, technical/college diploma or certificate programs can now apply for a Scholarship award.
There are three different awards available:
- Merit Awards ($750) – for students completing Grades 10, 11, or 12
- Bridging Awards ($1,000) – for students registered in an upgrading program (Adult Basic Education) or University Preparation program
- Scholarships ($1,800) – for students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs, trade/community or technical college diploma or certificate programs
There is a maximum of one award per applicant per student year. Students may re-apply each year if they wish to be considered for another award.
