Naka Power Utilities (NWT) Launches New EV Chargers in Fort Providence and Enterprise

  • Full Charge Ahead: New EV Chargers in Fort Providence & Enterprise

Naka Power Utilities (NWT) is proud to announce the completion of two brand-new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations—one in Fort Providence and another in Enterprise—bringing cleaner, more convenient travel options to drivers across the Northwest Territories.

Each location is equipped with a 100kW Level 3 DC fast charger for quick top-ups and a 19.2kW Level 2 charger for longer stops, offering flexible options to suit the needs of every EV traveller. Whether you’re commuting, road-tripping, or just passing through, these chargers are now open to the public and ready to power your journey.

These installations are part of our ongoing partnership with the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) to grow the EV charging corridor across the North. Together, we’re building the infrastructure needed to support the electrification of transportation, a key step in reducing emissions and creating a more sustainable future.

“We’re thrilled to bring fast, reliable charging to Fort Providence and Enterprise,” said Vic Barr, Manager, Naka Power Utilities (NWT). “Our goal is to make it easier for people to drive electric vehicles in the North—and to help shape how electricity is used in our communities moving forward.”

With existing chargers already operating in Yellowknife, we’re helping to create a connected and reliable network of EV infrastructure that will support residents, businesses, and visitors alike.

As more drivers make the switch to electric, we’re excited to keep moving forward—one charge at a time.

The project is funded in part by the Government of Canada
